Oh, Canada. |

Don't get me wrong, I love my birth-nation's virtues as much as any citizen... but the older I get and the more I pay attention to the erosion of our rights... I seem to get the feeling that my nation has become something slightly less than my notion of it (and doing so under the guise of Democracy). I really believe in freedom... to have choices... to express oneself... to not wage war until all diplomatic efforts have proven unsuccessful. But the truly unfortunate thing that irks me the most (and effects my day-to-day life) is that my own country only has one state that would allow me to legally marry the person I love (and that privilege might actually be taken away). I think that's crappy... and very sad. But Canada offers me hope. Even if my own nation will never see and accept me as the loving human being I am... I know there are places on the planet that will. First the Netherlands, then Spain... and now, thank goodness, a place not so far away... where I can speak the language (for the most part)... Canada. Perhaps Philip and I will live there someday. Please show your support for equality and peace. And even beyond all those kewl socio-political reasons to move to to Toronto... they have a Lush store at 312 Queen Street West!
